Buyers hoping to buy a unit with a $600,000 budget have access to suburbs in over 180 Australian capital city suburbs, according to new analysis.
The Domain House Price Report reveals a long list of affordable suburbs in all of the major capital cities, including Sydney.
“Generally speaking, housing gets cheaper the further you move away from the CBD, so there are affordable pockets – it is about knowing where to look,” says Domain chief of research and economics Dr Nicola Powell.
“It’s also about picking that location depending on the overall price for the city. So, for example, you’re much more likely to find it in those middle-ring suburbs … in Perth and Brisbane than you are in Sydney,” she says.
