This Narrabundah home comes from an era when visitors always knocked on the back door and a welcoming cup of tea was as close as the next boil of the kettle.

Today, this traditional three-bedroom govie sits on a full 1120 square metre block in one of this suburb’s most sought-after streets

In fact, it’s right on the border – with Griffith homes on the other side of the road.

The homeowner’s daughter, Janette Hollins, says her parents bought the house brand new in 1947 and she and her two siblings had been brought up in it.

“Originally, it was a two-beddie, but my parents extended before they had me and my twin brother,” she says.

“It was a great place to grow up – plenty of friends to play with and schools nearby.”

The home has been meticulously maintained and is highlighted by solid timber door frames, high ceilings and sash windows. The kitchen and bathroom have also been renovated in recent years.

“It’s really well built and there’s definitely an opportunity to renovate it to suit contemporary needs,” Janette says.
