This week, we shine the spotlight on Greenway and all it has to offer – from delicious eateries to activities to do at any time of the day.
An interesting fact about this Tuggeranong region suburb is that it was named after architect Francis Greenway, an English-born architect who was deported to Australia in 1814 as a convict for the crime of forgery.
He later became the country’s first government architect and is known for building Old Government House in Parramatta and St James Church in Sydney.

If you’re lucky to call Greenway home, one of the perks of living in this suburb is the plethora of eateries.
And what better place to start the foodie adventure than at the local shopping centre, South.Point Tuggeranong, where you’ll find a range of different cuisines for any palate including Mookie Burger – Canberra’s very own American-style burger joint with a unique Japanese twist.
Be sure to try the Mookie Deluxe Burger, a favourite amongst the locals thanks to its maple smoked bacon mixed with pickles, American cheese and chilli jam. Its frozen custard treats are also a must-try, its made in-house, daily.
If you’re looking for a bite on-the-go, Zucchini Bros serves up a variety of pizza and pasta options while Indian Grill Restaurant is a great spot to pick up a delicious curry on a cold night.
A hidden gem in Greenway is Foundry Coffee Co, a hole-in-the-wall specialty coffee bar. What the cafe lacks in size, it makes up for in passion.
Putting on a park barbecue with family and friends is one of my favourite activities and, thankfully, Greenway has so many green spaces and open playing fields, so take your pick from Lake Tuggeranong, Lake Shores Playground and more. Even the dogs can run wild at the fenced dog park.
With the school year almost coming to a close, what better way to entertain the kids than at Zone Bowling or the recently revamped Limelight Cinemas.
And for a little treat yo’self pampering session, head to Boss Hair and Body for all your beauty needs before picking up a floral arrangement at Bloomin’ Mad Flowers to end your day.
This two-bedroom townhouse in Shoreline Villas is made for the entertainer and expected to be completed in early 2021.
