You could never call Aubergine one of Canberra’s best-kept secrets. It’s been one of the first restaurant recommendations from committed foodies’ lips for years.

And no wonder. In that time, it’s collected a hefty swag of fine dining gongs and has pretty much set the Canberra benchmark for creative cuisine.

But time marches on, and there’s now an opportunity for a new business owner/tenant to reinvent the space and make a name for themselves within one of the Inner South’s most popular shopping strips.

Dania Khalil of Civium Property Group – Commercial says the outgoing business owners are keen to lease the restaurant space and sell its bespoke fit-out as a package.

“The space has been an integral part of the success of Aubergine,” she says.

“It’s highlighted by high ceilings, designer lighting and a simple yet elegant decor, which has set the stage for the restaurant’s unrivalled reputation for creativity.”

The space is licensed for 55 people and offers a fully fitted kitchen and dining area along with all fixtures and fittings – including a point-of-sale system. The commercial-grade kitchen includes a grease trap, extraction fans, coolroom and storage. Wine stock is not included but is negotiable, as is the Aubergine name.

“It’s  for an experienced hospitality operator,” Khalil says.
