The suburb takes its name from Caroline Chisholm.

Hugging the eastern edge of Tuggeranong in Canberra’s south is Chisholm.

The suburb takes its name from Caroline Chisholm, an English humanitarian with a strong focus on immigrant female and family welfare in Australia, and Chisolm’s streets are all named after notable women.

It’s a popular place for families, with plenty of parks and playgrounds scattered across the suburb.

Or, for coffee and a hearty breakfast, try The Public Place.

There are all of your Thai classics on the menu at Baan Thai Restaurant Chisholm or, for something quick to go, swing by Chisholm Takeaway.

See & do

On the second Sunday of each month, take a peek into the past at the Tuggeranong Schoolhouse Museum. See furniture, artefacts and antiques from years gone by, and hear tales of school days in the 1880 building.

For some panoramic views across Tuggeranong and the Brindabellas, lace up your shoes and grab the dog for a gentle walk up Simpson’s Hill. Or take the family for a hit on the tennis courts at Pines Tennis Club.
