Canberra’s strata industry has come together to recognise those who have made a significant contribution to the industry and community at the annual ACT 2022 Strata Community Awards on Saturday night.
Eleven awards were handed out on the night, with Vantage Strata taking out the top gong as the Best Service Provider and Innovator for the third year in a row. This qualified them to compete in the Australasian competition for large strata management firms later this year, a first for an ACT business.
“Vantage Strata is incredibly proud of our hat-trick,” Vantage Strata managing director Chris Miller said.
He said COVID-19 had posed significant challenges in the past 12 months, forcing the business to implement digital solutions across the board, such as running digital annual general meetings and executive committee meetings for strata buildings.
“Unlike many other strata companies who had to cancel and postpone meetings and votes, our response was seamless – our early embracement of new technology meant we were ready to go,” he said.
“Stakeholders are now more involved, engagement has increased and the numbers of those voting have rocketed,” he said.
At the awards, Mr Miller also took home the Project Award, and colleague Alistair Scott was given the Professional Commitment to Service & Ethics award, as well as the annual Essay Award.
Signature Strata was awarded the Medium-Sized Strata Business award, and First Choice Strata walked away with the Small Business Title award.
Konika Elphick of First Choice Strata won the Senior Strata Community Manager Award, Brooke Walton of Independent Property Group won the Strata Community Manager Award and Zachary Donaldson of LJ Hooker Strata ACT won the Strata Community Manager Rising Star award.
Other award winners included Geraldine Jones of Independent Property Group, who took out the Supper Team Member award, and Rhonda Yates of Bright & Duggan ACT, who took home the President Award.
Vantage Strata will compete at the national awards in June.
