Everything you need with minimal effort: Make Denman Prospect your new home

I purchased my first home with my husband around three years ago now, and if I had the opportunity to go back and do it again, there’s one thing I would rethink – the size of the property.

At the time, we saw 982 square metres of potential. Now, all we see is 982 square metres of time-consuming maintenance and hard work. The thought of raising chickens, growing vegetables and having large patches of grass for my dog and daughter to play on sounded blissful.

In reality, my chickens are the bane of my existence, my daughter prefers to play at our nearby park and playground, and my dog spends his outside time curled up in the sun and gets his exercise on a walk or playing fetch at the oval.

For so many of us, our modern way of life no longer needs, nor allows the time for an enormous property. It’s not just the first-time downsizers searching for large homes with smaller backyards, it’s young couples and families, too. Don’t get me wrong, we still want all the house, just none of the hard work.

The development at Stromlo Rise offers a lifestyle designed exactly for this. Three and four-bedroom homes that fit somewhere between a townhouse and a full-sized house give you everything you need with minimal effort.

“This is a boutique development of just six unique and outstanding townhouses in the heart of Denman Prospect,” says agent Jason Roses of VERV Property.

“[It’s] architect designed with a striking modern facade, beautiful interiors, and an elevated position with absolutely stunning views across the Molonglo Valley. “

Designed by Chevli Architects, the architecture is bold and strong. The overall form of the homes, especially the rise and fall of the roof structure reflect the surrounding mountainous landscapes. The interiors are clean, sophisticated and modern, with light and dark schemes.

“The architecture has been paramount and the design crucial when creating these homes,” says Roses.

“Large open-plan living areas flow into the kitchen. There are high-raked ceilings and engineered timber floors throughout.”

Each of the floor plans differs slightly, some boasting rumpus or multipurpose rooms, some having the main bedroom positioned on the ground floor and others having the main on the top taking in the breathtaking views.

“But what I love most about these homes is that each of the townhouses has front door access to the street, so it feels nothing like a townhouse. Guests can park on the road and walk directly to your front door, and you can walk straight out to enjoy all that Denman and the Molonglo have to offer,” explains Roses.

“It’s inner-city living, but you’re not in a concrete jungle. You’re surrounded by nature and an established forest and connected to some of the best walking and biking trails, the Coombs mega school is up the road and the amazing Denman shops with their great eateries are around the corner.”
