Established in the late 1960s, Cook is a hidden gem of Canberra’s north side. It’s one of the territory’s smaller suburbs, with a population of 2800 recorded at the last census.

Bordering Macquarie and Aranda, Cook is an abundantly green suburb, it’s unassuming in nature and offers residents a quiet yet pleasant lifestyle.

The suburb’s namesakes are Captain James Cook and Australia’s sixth prime minister, Sir Joseph Cook. Its streets are also named after notable women from Australian history.
