More than 30 former Mr Fluffy blocks have hit the market, as the taskforce nears the final stages of the rollout.
A total of 32 blocks will be auctioned late next month, with blocks ranging in size from 213 to 2092 square metres, according to online listings posted on Allhomes on Thursday.
Farrer has the most blocks on offer with five set to go under the hammer, followed by Pearce, Phillip and Torrens all with three each.
Four parcels in dual occupancy unit-titled blocks will be auctioned at sites in Chifley, Phillip, O’Connor and Turner. Under the unit titles management act, successful buyers will have to liaise with the owner of the other site.
Of the blocks, records show 17 are being reoffered to market, after being unable to secure a sale the first time.
It is the first auction event for the former asbestos blocks since December last year and, of the 18 blocks that were auctioned on the day, only five sold under the hammer.
For most of this year, Mr Fluffy blocks have been marketed via private treaty directly through the ACT government.
The first auction event for the blocks happened more than three years ago after a total of 1023 homes across Canberra were named as being affected with Mr Fluffy asbestos in 2015.
Home owners were given the option for the ACT government to buy back and demolish the homes and most owners partook in the scheme.
All online listings for the recently-released sites state that more than 80 per cent of the blocks from the scheme have sold.
The blocks are being marketed by Civium Property Group and will be auctioned at the Ainslie Football Club on October 30 from 6pm.
