The first home in Wright was built in 2012, and since then, development of the suburb has been full-steam ahead. It is now home to a vibrant community.

Wright is named after Judith Wright, an Australian poet, writer and Aboriginal rights campaigner who called Canberra home.

The suburb has a strong connection to its environment and is bordered by Mount Stromlo to the west and Molonglo River to the east.

Wright’s streets follow a grid-like design, creating a walkable neighbourhood with ample access to green spaces, including parks, playgrounds and bushland.

Residents are already treated to their fair share of natural beauty and with further development on the horizon, including Coombs and Wright Village – which will house cafes, shops and a community centre – life at Wright is set to get even better.

Eat & drink

Food and drink options are a little limited within this relatively new suburb, but the good news is you’re not far from a decent meal.

In neighbouring Denman Prospect, you’ll find Morning Dew, a cafe favoured by locals for its all-day brunch menu and ONA coffee.

When the sun goes down, residents hotfoot it to Honeysuckle for casual dining, cocktails, local wines, and craft beer.

Weston Creek, less than a 10-minute drive away, has a range of dining options, including the ever-popular Meating Room.
