Now on the verge of a revival, Manuka is about to be home to Morris Property Group’s newest exclusive development, Renaissance.

In its 90-odd years of existence, Manuka has led an affluent life.

Once the home to supermarkets, butchers, and a delicatessen, among an abundance of other retail stores, the precinct has more recently become known for its upmarket boutique shops, decadent restaurants and chic brunch spots.

Now on the verge of a revival, Manuka is about to be home to Morris Property Group’s newest exclusive development, Renaissance.

The development is set to transform the site of the former Stuart Flats, with its low-rise classic architecture and community feel. The first stage is a limited release of 100 residences, spread across just six levels.

Renaissance located on Light Street, Griffith

“Renaissance is French for ‘rebirth’, which speaks perfectly to our vision for this important site in Canberra’s Inner South, and what will be a significant urban renewal development for Canberra,” says Morris Property Group’s director of sales and marketing Slade Minson.

The floor plans are thoughtfully considered, providing one-bedroom apartment options right through to three-bedroom penthouses.

“With broad appeal in mind, the architect has designed homes that offer light-filled spaces featuring floor-to-ceiling, double-glazed windows and ducted reverse-cycle heating and cooling,” says Minson.

“The condenser units will also not be placed on balconies, which means we’ve really been able to enhance the outdoor areas.”

The generously sized balconies in the apartments enjoy northerly vistas to some of Canberra’s most iconic buildings, or serene park views to Griffith.

It’s the ideal spot to watch the sunset over Canberra with any kind of beverage in hand (except when there’s a sporting event at Manuka Oval, which is just across the road).

The kitchens include a range of Franke premium cooking appliances, with all apartments enjoying integrated microwave ovens, built-in dishwashers, 10 function ovens, ducted rangehoods, and induction cooktops.

“There are three distinct colour schemes on offer to appeal to everyone’s tastes – beautiful warm finishes to something a bit more edgy for those looking for something different,” says Minson.

Externally, the development pays homage to the history of the area, fusing traditional architectural elements of Canberra’s Inner South, with modern design principles.

Those who already live in the area will tell you they rarely leave. Enjoy Friday after-work drinks at Public Bar, a spot of Saturday retail therapy at the countless retail stores, and a quintessential Sunday brunch at Urban Pantry, 1 or 2 Cafe, Typica Manuka or Patissez.

A quick bike ride will also take you to the Kingston Foreshore, Lake Burley Griffin and the National Gallery of Australia.

“We have designed Renaissance to have broad appeal, from local downsizer market to first-home buyers, and savvy investors,” Minson says.

“People looking at the property should really consider our quality offering in such a desirable location.”

Expected completion is the third quarter of 2021.
