In late 2018, Cape was the first stage of DKSN to hit the market on the former site of the ACT Motor Registry. Now, it’s time to release stage two, Challis.

If you live in Canberra, it’s likely you’ve heard of the chic new lifestyle precinct, DKSN – a collaboration between renowned locally-based developers Doma and Englobo.

How can you escape their exciting advertisements that showcase the future of urban Canberra and a brand-new food precinct that rivals the Night Noodle Markets, but is permanent? The answer is, you can’t.

As the name suggests, the $160 million development is located in Dickson and will be a vibrant “social heart” where commercial, residential and retail come together in one cohesive precinct.

“DKSN includes a mix of residential apartments, a government building and commercial buildings,” says agent Sisi Chen of Colliers International Canberra Projects and Land Sales.

“There will also be an Eat Street, 90-space childcare centre, Club Lime gym, supermarket and medical centre.”

In late 2018, Cape was the first stage of DKSN to hit the market, with a mix of 102 apartments on the former site of the ACT Motor Registry. Now, with just three of those homes remaining, it’s time to release stage two, Challis.

“On the doorstep of Dickson, the light rail interchange and bus interchange, Challis is located on the northeast corner of the precinct, offering 93 one, two and three-bedroom apartments across eight stories,” Chen says.

DKSN - Stage two, Challis

Ultimately, like their Cape predecessors, Challis has been created with three key elements in mind: seamless design, spacious interiors and quality inclusions.

Inside, the apartments are as sleek and streamlined as they come.

Kitchens feature fully integrated fridges and Smeg appliances. Bathrooms celebrate minimalism with intelligently concealed storage. Spacious living areas exude sophistication and utilise quality natural materials like engineered timber floor and carpet to the bedrooms.

Ceiling heights of almost three metres allow natural light to permeate the rooms. Double-glazed windows ensure they stay warm in winter and cool in summer (as does the reverse-cycle split system).

“Outside, a massive 2500 square metres of the precinct will be open green space to enjoy,” says Chen.

DKSN - Eat Street

Think pet play area, picnic space or just a grassy place to relax with a book while getting your daily dose of vitamin D.

“DKSN is also only a short light rail trip, bike ride, bus ride or even walk from the Australian National University and the city CBD,” adds Chen.

But the most exciting element of the entire precinct is the highly anticipated Eat Street. All of the vacancies have been sold to owner-operators, with the developers ensuring that only one of each type of cuisine is available. That means one Thai, one Vietnamese, one Mediterranean, one Japanese, one Italian, and one dessert venue, to name just a few.

Expected completion is the end of 2021.
