Tucked away in a northern corner of Canberra is Holt, a charming suburb bordered by open farms and bushlands.

Gazetted in July 1970, the suburb was named after Harold Holt, Australia’s prime minister from 1966 to ’67.

The streets in the suburb are also named after sportswomen and men, including Alexander Burdon who was one of the founding fathers of rugby league.

At the heart of Holt is the Kippax Fair Shopping Centre, named after cricketer Alan Kippax, where community members need not travel far for their everyday items.

Away from the centre are also a number of foodie hotspots and activities.
