South Jerrabomberra: A place to call home, sweet home

South Jerrabomberra is a community built around spectacular views, beautiful parks and breathtaking nature trails.

The older I get, the more I realise how much value there is in an excellent local community. There’s something to be said when your children can walk to their best friend’s house on a weekend, or meet at the local park, while you bond with their parents over tea.

It’s even better when they sign up for weekend sport with said friend and you have a buddy to wait out those frosty mornings, before warming up with a sausage roll and a hot coffee at the local cafe.

These are core childhood memories of mine and how some of my mum’s greatest friendships were formed. I imagine this is exactly the type of community that’s set to be formed in South Jerrabomberra, a community built around spectacular views, beautiful parks and breathtaking nature trails, with exciting leisure and recreation facilities.

There's much to offer at South Jerrabomberra.

“The first facility includes a Town Park, which has a splash park for safe water play and a formal play area with an amazing centrepiece to be unveiled in the coming months,” says Jamie Cregan, ACT general manager of Village Building Co., the developers behind South Jerra.

“It also includes a learn-to-ride facility, nature play space, half-court basketball, an outdoor gym and barbecue facilities, and a native animal sculpture trail by world-renowned artists Gillie & Marc, around an enormous village green with an amphitheatre style embankment for future events and markets, leading up to what will be an incredible outdoor dining precinct on the park.”

The second is a Lifestyle Park that includes a state-of-the-art dog park in the shape of a bone, a substantial community orchard and gardens, more barbecue facilities, walking trails and a BMX pump track and skatepark.

And the third is a new 23-hectare Regional Sporting Complex that includes six premium outdoor playing fields and an indoor stadium for basketball and other indoor sports.

House-and-land packages range from three to an enormous five bedrooms to accommodate families of all shapes and sizes.

If I thought my childhood community was good, sans splash park, elevated sporting facilities and dedicated nature play spaces, I can only imagine how great it’s going to be for kids of the future.

On offer within this community is a range of house-and-land packages ranging from three to an enormous five bedrooms to accommodate families of all shapes and sizes.

“Our homes have been designed to maximise the northern aspect and open-plan living, which integrates with the backyard,” says Cregan.

“The floor plans have been designed to facilitate how people live and consider how people utilise each space within a house. We maximised storage within the home suitable for growing families.”

The Lifestyle Park includes a state-of-the-art dog park in the shape of a bone.

The standard inclusions are comprehensive and create the feeling of luxury without compromising quality. They include floating hybrid flooring, stone benchtops, fully landscaped front and rear yards, full Colorbond fencing and ultra-premium scrubbable paint, to name just a few.

“We have chosen to create, in particular, a number of four and five-bedroom homes for larger families that they can afford,” says Cregan.

“Our brand new five-bedroom home offerings are all under a million dollars on flat, premium elevated blocks across from what will be our six-and-a-half-hectare lifestyle park.”

Completion of these homes is expected in the second quarter of 2024.
