The best places in Canberra’s north and south to view Christmas lights 

Each year, hundreds of properties across the country decorate their homes with dazzling lights, and inflatable Santas and reindeers perched on their front yards. And in Canberra it’s no different. 

Whether you reside in the city’s north or south, you can get your dose of Christmas spirit at one of the residential light displays that’ll be sure to please everyone in the family. Or you can do the rounds and follow our trail below of them all!*

Some stops are putting on a display of more than 20,000 lights with a few of those synchronised to the Christmas jingles we all know and love.

A few properties also offer walk-ins for a simple donation that will go towards various charities including Legacy Australia and Camp Quality, just to name a couple.

Tuggeranong

With more than 50 houses on display brimming with Christmas charm, seeing festive displays in this south-side region is not uncommon. Here are two of our favourite displays in this region:

Gungahlin

There are close to 20 houses decked out with Christmas lights across Amaroo, Bonner and Harrison. But some of the best displays can be found at the following houses and streets:

Belconnen 

With close to 30 houses shining bright, Belco residents can easily spot some of the most creative presentations this holiday season. Some of those are at the following locations:

Weston Creek

There are only six houses that have confirmed that they are showcasing their festive displays this year but despite the small number, they are strong contenders for your hit list. Here are our top two picks:
