You might already know that the street names within Canberra’s suburbs are all prescribed a particular theme, which helps to determine what the street names will be.
Wright’s theme, for example, is the environment, poets and butterflies; Moncrieff’s is music and Giralang is from the language of the Wiradjuri people, which translates to “star” in English.
“Every street in Giralang is named after stars, constellations and space in general, derived from both English and Aboriginal languages,” says agent Kenneth Kong of TP Dynamics.
“We wanted this to form the foundation of our newest development G+, which is Giralang’s newest star.”
G+ is a development comprising a ground-floor retail space that is split into seven tenancies offering a wide retail mix from supermarkets to restaurants, cafes and retail services. The four floors above ground level comprise 50 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
The developer behind G+ is TP Dynamics, who took over the project in 2022 and are proceeding with the approved design.
“This project has been many years in the making and TP Dynamics is excited to restart the project and bring it to completion,” says Kong.
“Since commencing construction on the site, so many Giralang locals have expressed how pleased they are to see that this project is finally coming to life.”
G+ is the only mixed-use development project in Giralang, revitalising the heart of the suburb with a new level of amenity while offering a surrounding haven for all residents and a chance to be part of an established neighbourhood.
“When you step outside, instead of being greeted by a concrete jungle, you’re surrounded by tree-lined streets and suburbia, which is really lovely, and it’s next to a school,” says Kong.
“It’s also situated at a point in Canberra where it’s part of the Belconnen region, neighbouring suburbs like Kaleen, but it also connects with Crace making it equally as easy to get to Gungahlin as it does to the Belconnen Town Centre.”
Elevated above the tree tops, residents embrace light-filled living and balcony areas. Sensibility sits at the heart of the layouts, which encompass clean lines and logical square floor plans.
“The floor plans are of a generous size and are a lot bigger than what you commonly see on the market today. The three-bedroom apartments are up to 143 square metres of living and the two bedrooms are up to 118 square metres,” say Kong.
“One of the unique offerings is a two-bedroom loft-style apartment type occupying the top two levels of the building. The kitchen, dining, and living is situated on level three while the bedrooms are on the top level.
“It’s kind of like a townhouse with better views.”
The modern designs exude elegance and style with crisp tones and two colour palette options, which are equally as soothing, creating a calming environment to gather, indulge and relax in.
“It’s a haven to escape to with all the amenities you need close by,” says Kong.
Completion is expected in early 2024.
