City living has much to offer apartment residents, with plenty of retail, dining and recreational opportunities literally on the doorstep.

And, of course, there’s the likelihood of only a short walk to a workplace with plenty of options to grab a coffee on the way.

A residence in the heart of the city subtracts the time spent on a daily commute from the ‘burbs and adds it to the quality of life.

That’s the future that awaits residents of the Park Avenue development on the corner of City Walk and Allara Street.

There are 184 apartments in the 17-storey building, which has a basement and above-ground parking, and street-level shopfronts.

Morris Property Group sales and marketing director Slade Minson, says more than 90 per cent of the apartments have sold and residents are expected to begin moving in next month.

“We’ve had a great response from a wide range of buyers including first-home buyers, professional couples, downsizers and investors,” he says.

“The final release is titled ‘The Views’ and includes one, two and three-bedroom floor plans.”

It is aptly named, as the apartments take in many of Canberra’s iconic landmarks including Mount Ainslie, the Australian War Memorial, Lake Burley Griffin, Parliament House, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Carillon and Black Mountain Tower, just to name a few.

Minson says the apartments range in size from 60 square metres of living space to around 160 square metres, along with generous balcony space, basement parking and storage.

“The apartments are light-filled and bristling with quality fixtures, fittings and integrated appliances including Wolf, Sub Zero and Franke brands,” he says.

  • Views. A hot button for anyone considering apartment living is access to views, rather than a neighbouring tower. Park Avenue certainly delivers vistas in abundance, capturing many of Canberra’s iconic landmarks.
  • Amenity. There are plenty of shared options for residents, including a spacious fourth-level lounge, gym, yoga lawn and outdoor entertaining space with a barbecue. Beyond Park Avenue, the city awaits.
  • Location. The city is the ultimate definition of a walkable neighbourhood. That’s the big drawcard for Park Avenue, where a wealth of dining and retail options are just beyond the front door.
