I often think about packing it all up and moving to the coast. I have friends in Sydney who make no apology for Instagramming their incredible sunrise walks along the beach, and I envy them every morning.
But the thought of navigating the chaos of Sydney every day makes my skin crawl. For me, the NSW South Coast boasts the best lifestyle. Fresh air, space and easygoing living. I’ve always thought one day I’ll move there.
But, with everything going on in the world, and developments like The Sapphire of Eden hitting the market, perhaps there is no better time than the present?
The southernmost Sapphire Coast township of Eden is the region’s prized jewel, and The Sapphire of Eden might just be its most exciting development yet.
In its entirety, Sapphire comprises of three residential blocks and one five-star resort operated by Raddison.
In short, the one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses offer self-contained resort-style living.
“There are only six apartments to one floor and four on the penthouse levels, with easy access from security-keyed lifts,” says agent Martin Liszewski, of Century 21 Projects.
“The apartments have extra-large open-plan areas, some with over 250 square metres, incredible ocean and beach views, secured garaged areas underground, with 24-hour security.”
Designed by award-winning architectual firm Altis, the generous floor plan connects the kitchen, living and dining into one flowing, light-filled space. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows provide uninterrupted views of Twofold Bay, the Tasman Sea and Snug Cove.
There are two seaside-inspired colour palettes to choose from: a driftwood palette of pale timber, glass and light tones; and a coastal palette, which has aged walnut tones complemented by bold greystone features.
As a resident, you’ll be able to revel in the shared facilities. Take a dip in the heated pool and spa, work out in the state-of-the-art gym, retreat to the sanctuary of the landscaped gardens or indulge your green thumb in the vegetable patch.
You’ll also have optional access to the hotel’s club – which includes a rooftop infinity pool – dine in one of the fine restaurants or use the business/conference/office facilities, meeting rooms and board rooms.
But something I find most exciting is that you can even get room service from the hotel to your apartment, should you wish. It’s probably the closest thing to resort-style living you’ll ever come across.
Additionally, the local area offers the kind of lifestyle you might have dreamt of retiring to, only now you can make it your reality every day.
“Beach walks, public buses on demand, and major seaport historic museums, light houses, virgin beaches, whale, seal and dolphin watching, incredible fishing, nearby golf courses and, of course, with Bega, Tilba, Bodalla and Cobargo nearby, you’re on the doorstep of the oyster capital of the South Coast and the cheese capital of Australia,” says Liszewski.
Expected completion is February 2023 for residential, January 2023 for the hotel.
