Holidaymakers are being given the rare opportunity to rent the former homes of celebrities including Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews and Leonardo DiCaprio.

For as little as $123 a night (or as expensive as $14,057) you could be living the lifestyle of your favourite Hollywood star inside these nine esteemed properties.

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey recently rented this four-bedroom beachfront Malibu home listed on Airbnb for a whopping $14,057 per night.

Among the home’s features are a spa, a gourmet kitchen, two-room guest cottage and beachfront patios.

There isn’t a review from Carey (or any other guests) posted on the listing, but based on the multiple Instagram shots the singer posted during her stay, we can assume it was a good one.

The home is valued at an estimated $41 million.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski

The former Hollywood Hills home of actress Emily Blunt and her husband, actor John Krasinski, was recently listed on Airbnb for $718 a night.

The couple sold the home earlier this year for approximately $3.8 million.

With eight bedrooms across 3000 square feet, the home is able to host up to 16 guests a night. Also included are three bathrooms, spa and parking for 10 cars.

Unfortunately, bragging rights are off-limits for guests. The listing states those who take photos or film their stay without prior permission will have to vacate immediately and will face legal proceedings.

Julie Andrews

The former home of actress Julie Andrews is an architectural masterpiece, and yours to rent for $725 a night.

Nicknamed “The Rubber House” the house is located in upstate New York on a seven-acre property.

Architect Tom Pritchard originally designed the home for prolific choreographer Eugene Loring and his partner before it was faithfully renovated by Andrews. The original dance studio, industrial kitchen and unique exterior have all been maintained.

The listing reveals, “The designer was given the freedom to embrace environmental innovations such as natural ventilation and a paint-free neoprene exterior, creating an influential case study and local landmark.”

The home also includes a “writer’s tower” with views over the home’s rooftop surrounding woods and fields.

The home is available to rent from its current owners – an American ballerina and British editor.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly the current owner of 432 Hermosa – an iconic modernist home in Palm Springs originally designed by renowned architect Donald Wexler in 1964.

The palm tree adorned estate is a mixture of modernist architecture, manicured gardens and luxury amenities.

The home is being rented out through a private website for approximately $6250 per night with a two night minimum stay. Whether that also includes a visit from Leo is unconfirmed.

Another Palm Springs gem, Bing Crosby is the former owner of this 1934 four-bedroom home.

The pool area includes seating for 30, a private cantina (bar) and is surrounded by an array of citrus trees.

Inside the interiors are charming and rustic, with vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace and original tiled floors.

The home’s listing states, “With a view of the San Jacinto Mountains, this 3200-square foot home boasts a newly designed chef’s kitchen perfect for entertaining groups of family or friends, with a dining area and a wall of French doors opening to an expansive private pool.”

The home is available to rent for approximately $979 a night with a three night minimum stay.

Ava Gardner and Artie Shaw

Actress Ava Gardner’s former Los Angeles home is by far the cheapest celebrity property on the market at $123 a night.

Gardner and her husband, big band jazz musician Artie Shaw, lived here in the early 1940s.

Inside the 1938 Art Moderne home is a library with over 1000 books, a living room with wood burning fireplace, and a dining room for 12 featuring French doors that open to the rose garden.

A fully instrument-equipped cabin is also available on-site, and a horse stable can be used for an additional stabling fee.
