The house is currently an empty shell, and needs work to turn it into a habitable dwelling.
The block backs onto a canal that is a popular fishing spot, and there are plenty of tall trees on the property.
A studio flat on Queensland’s South Stradbroke Island with waterfront views is on the market for offers over $70,000.
However, the listing notes that the apartment building is subject to ongoing legal disputes between the resort owners and the body corporates.
There is currently no mains power, water or gas. The listing states “numerous owners have been setting up their properties on the island off-grid”.
