A Beverly Hills fixer-upper that belonged to music star Cher and comedian Eddie Murphy is on the market for $US85 million ($115 million).

It features a four-bedroom, Moroccan-themed guest house, a spa and a dry sauna on 6.4-hectare grounds, plus a tennis court, swimming pool and riding rings for the equestrian enthusiast.

The 1858-square-metre main house, on the other hand, needs a little work. It has been undergoing renovations and the agent, Aaron Kirman, told the Wall Street Journal a “new owner would need to build out the kitchens, bathrooms and finishes”.

Cher reportedly built the original estate on 1.6 hectares after buying the block in the 1970s. She sold it to Eddie Murphy for $US5.9 million in 1988 – also the year of his classic comedy movie Coming to America.

Murphy went on to sell the property in 1995.

The owners during the latter 1990s expanded by buying pieces of the surrounding land and installed the equestrian facilities. The current seller is Vicki Walters, the widow of a real estate developer.

Another one of Eddie Murphy’s former homes went on the market earlier this year. He has made a recent return to stand-up comedy, and according to Deadline is signed up to appear in a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie.

Cher – who has a long and storied real estate history – was in the news recently for attending a concert to support US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
