A long red smear on the kitchen floor and a scarlet puddle in the driveway of a “cute” Kentucky home for sale has sent property watchers into a speculative spin.
The listing in the adorably-named Buttermilk Pike, Lakeside Park, has gone viral for three strange advertising photos.
The 1920’s property – for sale on American listing platform Zillow – is under offer from a brave soul, despite a mark on the kitchen linoleum that is enough to stop a prospective buyer dead in their tracks.
A couple of large red splashes are also visible on the outside concrete, to the right of the double-garage doors.
Agents have removed the kitchen images from the advertising since the listing went viral, but they have been widely shared since first appearing on a popular social media account dedicated to odd Zillow listings. The garage shot remained on the ad at the time publishing.
The listing says: “Great location! This cute home features hardwood floors; screened in porch; fireplace; an oversized garage; and a backyard oasis. Loads of potential – Make it your own! Selling as-is.”
The photos shared to the Zillow Gone Wild account have been liked thousands of times and retweeted by hundreds of users.
Zillow Gone Wild, which scouts for the most bizarre listings in the US, tweeted a link to the ad and pictures with the caption: “Whaaaaat’s happening in this kitchen…”
A follower commented: “9 acres in Lakeside Park?!?!?! At that price its a steal, even if its more than a bit shady.”
Another tweeted: “Bet you can find a really good hiding spot on 9 acres” and someone speculated it was “spooky Halloween staging”.
One response saw the lighter side: “I’m more worried about those countertops and cabinets. They DEFINITELY need to be replaced.”
Another said: “As long as the ghosts are friendly I guess. I’m easy to get along with.”
