The four-bedroom duplex in North Bondi’s Ben Buckler neighbourhood currently for sale with a $3.8 million guide is a fairly unassuming Sydney home, given its owner is the daughter of the late Philippine dictator, Ferdinand Marcos.
But Analisa Hegyesi is not regarded as part of the Philippines’ ruling elite and her mother is not Imelda Marcos, the former first lady who became famous worldwide after she left behind 1220 pairs of shoes when the family fled a popular uprising in 1986.
Analisa’s mother is Evelin Hegyesi, a former Playboy magazine and bikini model of the 1960s and 1970s who had an affair with the Philippine president about 47 years ago.
Hegyesi’s father died in exile in Honolulu in 1989, but her half-brother Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos jnr has returned to political life in the Philippines and is an ally of President Rodrigo Duterte.
In Sydney, Hegyesi was long known on the social scene as the former partner of grocery heir and race horse breeder Dean Fleming.
Indeed, her family tree may never have been a matter of public knowledge. But in 2004 a global search for the Marcos family’s hidden $US13.5 billion fortune revealed she had been the recipient of a secret trust account set up for her and her mother.
Hegyesi, who heads up her interior designer firm AH Design Concept, is based in Tamarama, according to corporate records, where she rents an apartment owned by comedian Chris Lilley.
Having bought her four-bedroom property on North Bondi’s Brighton Boulevard for $2.1 million in 2012, it is set to go to auction on December 7 through Ric Serrao, of Raine & Horne Double Bay.
