The townhouses boast spacious, open-plan living and dining zones.

As Canberra continues to grow further north, the current “inner north” is arguably becoming the centre of our bustling city.

With this in mind, it’s understandable that developers are investing in reviving an older suburb such as Dickson, making it into what is anticipated to be an even more enviable lifestyle precinct than it is today.

Eighty8 is the newest of many Dickson-based developments set to hit the market, with a collection of eight three-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouses on offer.

The individual floor plans range from 130 to 167 square metres. Each contains a generous kitchen, designer bathrooms, supreme fixtures and fittings, a double lock-up garage and an abundance of natural light.

“There is also flexibility to change the floor plans to suit the buyer’s living requirements,” says agent Rowan Glanville of Hayman Partners.

While the townhouses boast spacious, open-plan living and dining zones, it is the large courtyards that set them apart from similar dwellings in the area, with some even wrapping around the residence.

“They have been designed for people to relax and unwind, but the homes also deliver a sophisticated elegance for entertaining, along with all the space you need,” says Glanville.

Two neutral colour palettes with premium materials are on offer, with the option for timber flooring throughout the living areas. Other notable features include double-glazed windows, AEG stainless steel appliances, and ducted heating and cooling.

Externally, the building will use a combination of natural hardwearing materials that will tie beautifully into the existing streetscape and help ensure the low maintenance of the development continues well into the future.

Located at 88 Dooring Street, Eighty8 is on the fringe of the expanding CBD, yet still maintains the serenity of quiet suburbia, with absolutely everything you need within walking distance or a short commute.

On its doorstep is a myriad of dining and entertainment options (with even more in the pipeline). In particular, the Dickson shops boast some of the region’s best restaurants, including Canberra’s small but flourishing version of Chinatown.

Northbourne Avenue is just a stroll down the street, which means a quick trip on the light rail to the CBD will make your commute a breeze and give you easy access to the Canberra Centre.

For small or growing families, the area has an abundance of nearby public and private primary schools, high schools and colleges, as well as being close to the Australian National University.

“We expect the homes will appeal most to a live-in owner looking for a larger-than-average floor plan in a central location,” says Glanville.

Expected completion is the end of 2019.
