Domain Property Report: New residential listings rise, as auction clearance rates remain strong

Buyers on the hunt to secure a new home before Christmas will have more options to choose from, with a rising number of new properties for sale coming to the market last week.

Sydney 

Sydney saw the highest number of new properties for sale come onto the market all year last week, with many of these new listings located in affordable areas.

Melbourne

New listings in Melbourne increased by 14 per cent last week, giving buyers more choice as the year comes to an end. There are signs this trend of strong listing growth could continue into 2022. 

Brisbane

Brisbane had a strong clearance rate of 86 per cent on Saturday, showing there is strong demand for homes going to auction. 

Adelaide 

Last Saturday marked the busiest auction day on record for Adelaide, with a clearance rate of 78 per cent. 

Perth

Perth has experienced its highest weekly volume of new listings for the year, with this trend set to continue.
