Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have done it again.
Hollywood’s most prolific buyers and sellers of real estate have reportedly put down just shy of $US70 million ($102.4 million) on two properties in the exclusive seaside locale of Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County, according to Siteline Santa Barbara and Dirt.
It’s understood the couple, who reportedly have a property portfolio worth $US450 million ($659 million), splashed out on a $US41.7 million ($61 million) Tuscan mansion and a block of land right next door for $US28.2 million ($41.3 million).
Dirt reports that the deal is now the most expensive residential deal ever in Santa Barbara County.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, DeGeneres and de Rossi’s new farmhouse boasts five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a wine cellar, home theatre, marble mosaic pool and two spas. There is also a one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse.
The purchase follows the couple’s string of house-flipping success stories, which include two properties in the celebrity enclave of Montecito in Santa Barbara.
In October, Ariana Grande said “thank you, next” to the historic two-bedroom, three-bathroom home she bought from the couple for $US9.1 million ($13.3 million), according to Siteline Santa Barbara and Dirt.
Grande only lived in the property for two years, having bought it off DeGeneres for $US6.8 million ($9.9 million). DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the home for $US3.6 million ($5.2 million) in 2020 and completed an extensive renovation.
A month prior, the couple also sold another mansion in the area for $US36 million ($52.7 million), according to Siteline Santa Barbara and Dirt.
It’s understood Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun bought the property in an off-market deal.
DeGeneres and de Rossi completed a stunning renovation of the house, which was built in 2014.
