Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are selling up yet another Californian home, seeking more than $56 million (AUD) for a four-bedroom home they bought just last year.
The prolific property flippers are looking to offload their Bali-inspired estate in Santa Barbara’s upmarket Montecito neighbourhood for $US39.9 million ($A56.2 million), the Los Angeles Times reports.
After buying the bulk of the property for $27 million in early 2019, they expanded the hillside compound with the near-$1.9 million purchase of the fixer-upper next door – leaving them with an estate spanning more than 990 square metres.
The home has four bedrooms, 10 bathrooms — five full and five half-bathrooms — and a four-car garage, as well as a large remodelled chef’s kitchen with a butler’s pantry. There’s a large guest house, a cabana/gym, a sauna and spa, a security office, a pond and a pickleball court (which according to a quick Google is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis).
The sprawling property also offers both ocean and mountain views, best viewed from the stunning infinity pool or the alfresco dining and entertaining area.
It has been listed for sale with Riskin Partners Group, a division of Village Properties.
It comes just months after DeGeneres — who has faced allegations of toxic work environment — and de Rossi, sold another Montecito home to pop star Ariana Grande.
They bought the Tudor-style property for $3,607,000 earlier this year, then returned it to the market for $6.9 million after a speedy renovation – which saw them reconfigure the property from a three-bedroom home into a two bedder, and add a new kitchen and study, among other upgrades.
They also sold a $34 million residence, also in Montecito, in 2018, making $7.5 million on the sale in five years, and offloaded a $11 million property in the same area earlier that year.
