Entertainer Rihanna snaps up Beverly Hills mansion for $17.8m

Multi-talented entertainer Rihanna, who sings, dances, acts and has her own line of beauty products and lingerie, can now add Beverly Hills homeowner to her impressive list of achievements.

The 33-year-old recently snapped up a five-bedroom home in the mountains of the famous suburb for $A17.8 million, celebrity news site Dirt reports.

Last year the property was listed briefly with an asking price of almost $US15 million ($A19.4 million), which was later revised down to $A18.05 million.

The 708-square-metre home was formerly owned by tech entrepreneur Daniel Starr, who sold it off-market to the Barbadian singer.

Starr had spent millions of dollars renovating and extending the home, which was built in the 1930s. 

The impressive mansion has seven bathrooms and features a stylish black and white exterior and interior.

There are accents of marble throughout the home, especially in the bathrooms and the kitchen, and some of the living spaces include open fire places.

The impressive home also has a pool, large outdoor entertaining areas and, of course, quite a few outdoor umbrellas.

The home is in a much-sought-after cul-de-sac of Beverly Hills and Rhianna’s new neighbours will include Sir Paul McCartney, with whom she collaborated on the hit song FourFiveSeconds, along with Kanye West. 

Rihanna has become quite the property investor over the years, owning multiple homes in the United States, Britain and Barbados, including a $A7.1 million penthouse apartment in The Century building, Los Angeles, where she reportedly spends most of her time.

She has had a long career in the music industry in the US, having signed to Def Jam records as a 16-year-old. Since then, Rihanna has released a string of hits including Umbrella, We Found Love and S&M. 

Rihanna has not released an album since 2016. Speculation continues to mount over the release of her next album, dubbed “R9” by fans. 

The hip hop and RNB singer has had a tumultuous love life, dating singer Chris Brown from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, Brown was charged with assault and making criminal threats against her.

He pleaded guilty to felony assault and was given five years’ probation for the crime. 

Rhianna has also been linked to rapper Drake, who she dated until 2016, and Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, who she reportedly split from last year.
