Kingston is set to enjoy a retail renaissance next year with the arrival of the Eyre St. Market.

Situated on the street level of the Atria mixed-use development, it will bring 13 new stores to the popular inner-south destination anchored by a massive Supabarn farmer’s market.

Chris Antos of Laing+Simmons Commercial says the market will give Kingston a real boost.

“Many of the newer areas, like Kingston Foreshore, have been receiving a lot of investment in the past few years,” he says.

“Kingston has been one of Canberra’s favourite shopping and dining options since the 1920s and we hope the Eyre St. Market will become the catalyst for further rejuvenation.”

Antos says tenancies will suit a wide range of businesses with floor plans between 44 square metres to 241 square metres.

“We’re looking to create a strong balance including a cafe, perhaps a bar-restaurant along with boutique retailers – like a bakery, florist, beauty salon and so on,” he says.

“It’s going to be a real plus for local residents and is bound to refresh Kingston’s already strong visitor appeal.”

Eyre St. Market’s striking contemporary design incorporates brick facades, raw materials, and utilitarian lines to complement the Kingston vibe.

There will be more than 400 basement car bays dedicated to the market. Construction is underway with completion expected in mid-2020.
