A family behind an ultra success kids’ YouTube channel have bought a record-breaking, multi-million dollar mansion.
The new owners of the $US8.4 million ($AU13.5 million) Washington compound are Robert and Jacqueline Mann, according to local press, who have a channel with more than 44 million subscribers.
YouTubing clearly pays – the colossal home in the city of Spokane has an indoor basketball court, a spa “room” and a theatre. The property offers eight bedrooms, thanks to a separate guest house.
The couple and their children upload educational skits to their channel, Genevieve’s Playhouse, in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Vietnamese. They launched it in 2016.
Their most popular video discusses crayon colours, aimed at toddlers, and has been watched two billion times.
Their second-most watched video in a 20-minute, day-in-the-life of soft Paw Patrol toys, which has been viewed on 708 million occasions.
The Mann’s new home, in the suburb of Spokane Valley, fetched the area’s highest price of 2024.
Robert Mann told The Spokane Review that he and his family were relocating for the region’s beauty. “We’re just a normal family starting new lives in a new place,” Mann said.
YouTuber Jake Paul is another who has parlayed his online success into property.
A couple of months before his televised fight with Mike Tyson, the now professional boxer showed fans around his $AU32 million mansion in Puerto Rico.
He told his fans he spent $US2 million on updates, including a new garage for his car collection, and a $AU1.9 million astronaut sculpture by the pool which he bought from celebrated artist Joseph Klibansky.
