Some houses come with off-street parking – this one comes with a holiday to Singapore and $NZ5000 ($4742) spending money.

The five-bedroom property on Auckland’s North Shore is on the market for $NZ975,000 ($924,000) with a first-class trip to Singapore thrown in to sweeten the deal.

While the house doesn’t currently boast any Singapore-inspired decor, the vendor wanted to send the new homeowners on holiday so they could be inspired to redecorate.

After five years as a rental property, the house needs “a bit of TLC”, according to Century 21 Collett Realty owner Liam Collett, who is selling the property.

Collett said the vendor lived by the motto that “life is all about experiences” and loved the idea of sending the new owners to a country she “adores”.

The trip would cost about $NZ20,000 in total, he said, but she was “thrilled” to do it.

“When the vendor brought her first property she could never afford to go on holiday, let alone fly first-class.

“She sees this as a ‘pat on the back’ to the successful buyer for getting their foot onto the housing ladder.”

He said “ideally” the property would go to a first-time buyer, “but we understand that won’t be possible for many”.

The house at 2/49 College Road, Northcote, has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large office and kitchen, and flatmates who are happy to stay on with a new landlord.
