Five of the most jaw-dropping pools that made a splash on the market

When you think of summer in Australia, an image of relaxing by the pool comes to mind.

Five Aussie homes that changed hands in 2023 certainly made a splash on the market with their one-of-a-kind pools.

From a timber runway that leads to a horizon-edge magnesium pool, to a dramatic “see-through box” and a runway pool, here are some of the standout designs.

A luxury Perth home stands out from the pack with its unique frontage.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom property, which sold on June 29 for an undisclosed figure, features a “dramatic see-through pool” in the front garden.

As stated on the listing, the 14-metre pool includes a “glass panel you can see through”.

On the books of Natalie Snooks of Area Specialist WA, the mansion had a price guide in the mid-$4 million range.

15 Durham Place, Glenview, Queensland

A luxury home with a very fashionable feature sashayed off the market in a speedy deal.

The five-bedroom, two-bathroom property on the Sunshine Coast has a timber runway that makes for an epic conversation starter.

The runway starts from the entry and runs through the open-plan living area, ending at the 21-metre horizon-edge magnesium pool and spa on the edge of the living zone.

LED lighting on the runway adds a touch of show-stopping drama to the overall design.

Agent Chris Pace of McGrath Buderim and Mooloolaba, who held the listing alongside Damien Michael, previously told Nine the home “went under contract within seven days on September 13 to a Melbourne-based buyer who paid $3.5 million in cash”.

A buyer is now in possession of a dazzling rooftop pool in Sydney’s Mosman.

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom property sold on August 10 for an undisclosed sum. At the time of publication, there was only one other home for sale with that feature.

The rooftop pool is a 15-metre lap pool that makes up part of the “poolside pavilion” and is next to a level lawn which is perfect for entertaining.

Geoff Allan of Ray White Lower North Shore Group, who handled the listing alongside Geoff Smith, told Nine during the campaign that the price guide was around $13 million.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom abode, which sold on May 30 for $16.5 million, features a lane of 24-carat gold leaf in the infinity-edge lap pool.

Agent Richard Simeon of Simeon Partners told Nine during the campaign that the gold leaf detail also runs across the pool steps.

Listing photos reveal a staircase that leads to a subterranean media room and 1200-bottle wine cellar that looks into the saltwater swimming pool.

The property is on the books of Drew Davies and Bryce Osborne of Place Estate Agents Ascot. It is the creation of design firm Arkhefield and Scott Clements Constructions.
