A buyer has seen potential in an “eyesore” property.
Once a three-bedroom, one-bathroom brick build, the home at 136 Tadmore Road in Cranebrook, New South Wales, has suffered significant fire damage with part of the roof missing.
Joe Masters of PRD Penrith, who holds the listing alongside Darren Latty, reveals the property sold at auction on April 13 for $1,620,000. This is double Cranebrook’s median house price of $862,500.
Masters and Latty begin the listing by encouraging potential buyers to “bring their bulldozer” as the property requires “many tonnes of work”.
The listing also states that the burnt-out home was once a dumping ground for cars.
Along with part of the roof missing, there is also the absence of a foundation wall, adding to its uninhabitable state.
No interior shots are shown on the listing, and the buyer will bring imagination and a plan to the table, in a postcode which has enjoyed huge capital gains over the past five years.
Masters and Latty also suggest the neighbours will adore you as you add “significant value to their properties by fixing the eyesore”.
Cranebrook is just a few kilometres north of central Penrith. Domain’s latest data reveals the median house price for Cranebrook is $862,500. This represents a five-year spike of 32.7 per cent.
