AFL coach turned real estate agent Denis Pagan experienced some sweet serendipity at his weekend auction.

Former North Melbourne and Carlton coach now real estate agent, Denis Pagan, is preparing to sell his beloved family home.

No. 140-142 Station Street in Carlton is owned by Pagan and his brother Larry and has been mostly empty since their parents died about 10 years ago.

Offers over $1.5 million have been entertained for the plum inner-city block, which was a dairy in the 1800s and is derelict but comes with a permit for three townhouses.

Post footy, Pagan launched Pagan Real Estate alongside son Ryan, who also played for the Roos.

One serendipitous sale was an apartment at the old gasometer site on Macaulay Road, which overlooked the Arden Street oval.

The enormous gasometer was iconic to the club that Pagan also played for in the VFL.

The Station Street property will go under the hammer on Saturday.

Over in bayside Melbourne, Demons coach Paul Roos has found a taker for his swish home.

The modern property, a couple of streets back from the beach, is held in the name of wife Tami, public land titles show.

The three-bedroom house with a pool was listed through Chisholm and Gamon’s Torsten Kasper and was to have been auctioned on Saturday.

However, advertising for the house, which the Roos’ settled on in May 2014, has been slapped with “sold”.

Mr Kasper says the Roos family are staying in Melbourne and have purchased another property.
