Former world number one tennis player Thomas Muster has offloaded one of his luxurious Noosa Heads properties for just under $6 million.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home, designed by acclaimed architect Tim Ditchfield, fronts an exclusive and private stretch of the Noosa River in Mossman Court. Completed in late 2014, the property was built as a luxurious retreat for Austria-based Muster when he visited Australia.
Muster’s former wife, television presenter and actor Jo Beth Taylor, and their son Christian, still live on the Sunshine Coast.
Marketing agent Tom Offermann, who listed the property at $5.9 million, said he could not yet reveal the exact price paid but said it was “close to the asking price”.
“All I can tell you is that the buyers are from Sydney and they’ve bought it as their holiday home,” he said.
“Over the last six months — and in the last three months in particular — buyers from Sydney who have done well out of the property boom are purchasing here in Noosa.
“They can buy for a lot less and have an incredibly lifestyle.”
Muster has long been a fan of Noosa, having bought his first property on the hinterland back in 1994.
And although he’s letting this one go, he’s not moving far – records show he purchased three adjoining sites in the same cul-de-sac last year for a combined price of $10.41 million. It is understood he has approached Tim Ditchfield again to oversee the design of his new home.
