A $50 million deal for four homes – in one – is looming large on Australia’s richest and most prized street.
The four units at one address in Point Piper are being offered as one and could become a new trophy home or development site.
The apartments are on Wolseley Road – the street that consistently sets price records, and is home to Australia’s most expensive property.
All have jaw-dropping views that belong on a postcard of Sydney and the site, in a dress circle seat overlooking the bobbing yachts on the harbour and the iconic bridge, does not have a heritage overlay.
The lead agent is Marcus Botté of The Rubinstein Group, who is conducting an expressions of interest campaign, with price expectations north of $50 million.
“Behold this absolute blue-chip prime position masterpiece in the world’s best street,” the listing says.
“This is the perfect property for a supreme Point Piper trophy home or luxury multi-unit development. Featuring incredible 100 per cent unobstructed panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and beyond from all three levels and large garden.”
The interiors speak to an era of elegance – chandeliers, fine joinery, decorative ceilings and fireplaces.
The listing marks the last of a rare chance to acquire a block on Wolseley, where Domain data shows the last house sold was in March this year, although several apartments have traded since.
“This could well be the last big house-sized sale ever on the best side of Wolseley Road, as the other owners on the world’s most desirable street are firmly entrenched and have no desire nor motivation to sell at any price.”
Point Piper is where to find the three most expensive sales in Australian real estate history – deals worth $130 million, $100 million and $95 million.
However, the suburb is set to do it again with the listing of businessman John Symonds’ $200 million waterfront estate Windagal.
Wolseley Road runs behind the Symonds’ estate, which has almost 100 metres of harbour frontage as vistas of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Th $3 million pad is one of only a few apartments in, you guessed it – the wonderful Wolseley Road.
Take coffee, or a glass of something more swish, on the balcony perched above Lady Martins Beach.
