Ever wanted a beachfront holiday home? How about a Porsche? Believe it or not, you can buy one and have the other thrown in.
Barrister Warren Lee, the chairman of Australian Mortgage Fund, is parting with his second home and his Porsche Cayenne, which he bought specifically to get around North Queensland.
Wife Suzi said the SUV was bought out of convenience. “We always left the car there so we didn’t have to rent a car,” she said.
The house also comes with all the furnishings, barring a few pieces of art. Ray White Mission Beach‘s Melissa Thurgood said it was best to think of the Porsche as part of the furniture.
“It’s not a gimmick,” she said. “It’s convenience for the buyers as well.
“This is a holiday-house car and it’s staying with the holiday house.”
Although it’s a bit more fancy than having a Honda for a holiday-home car, the Lees used the Porsche to pick up friends and family from the airport and run errands around town.
“They thought people would appreciate the flexibility the car would give and it just so happens to be a Porsche Cayenne,” Ms Thurgood said.
“It’s very handy to have the Porsche Cayenne to go exploring – great day trips include Paronella Park, the Atherton Tablelands, Murray Falls and the award-winning Charley’s Chocolate company on the outskirts of Mission Beach.”
The Lees kept the house as one of their two main places of residence, but they’ve since built a house in Vanuatu and no longer need 36 Pacific Parade, Mission Beach.
“We have to downsize somewhere,” Ms Lee said. “Vanuatu is a new love for Warren, he loves it there.”
Besides, at a $1.8 million asking price, what difference would a seven-year-old Porsche worth $60,000 make anyway?
