Some of Australia’s most exclusive addresses have hit the market, and we’ve rounded up our favourites.

This week’s eight-strong shortlist includes a timber masterpiece in Gladesville, a renovated 1930s-era manor in Toorak, and a Middle Park residence with an innovative take on the concept of water views.

Kangaloon

If heaven was the equivalent of a country retreat, then surely it would look something like Pepper Tree Creek Estate.

Set on 30 hectares with vast swathes of parkland, a terraced potager garden and a private lake, the main residence is a celebration of stone and timber with soaring ceilings, open fireplaces and deep verandahs.

The property comes with a fully renovated, self-contained cottage called ‘the Old Dairy’ with one bedroom, one bathroom, a veranda and a porch.

Kate McCullagh of Di Jones Real Estate Southern Highlands is marketing the property, and says there’s a $6.5 million price guide.

Craftsman-built in the 1930s and surrounded by established gardens, Koonda comes with five separate and distinctive living zones.

There’s a timber-lined study with feature skylight, a rumpus room with bar and a very impressive kitchen and conservatory-style dining room, as well as a north-south tennis court and a gas-heated pool.

Toorak village and coveted school catchments are close by, as is Sir Zelman Cowen Park and other green pockets near the Yarra River.

Kay & Burton South Yarra agent Gerald Delany leads an expressions of interest campaign that closes on April 2, with a price guide of $11.5 million to $12.5 million.

Architect Rory Brooks has blurred the lines between indoors and out at this striking home, with the two-storey residence wrapping around a central pool.

The home showcases timber, glass, concrete and exposed brickwork, and a walkway separates the main from the remaining bedrooms.

Cleverly designed nooks allow space for greenery in unexpected places, including pebbled gardens that adorn the upper-level windows.

BresicWhitney Hunters Hill agent Peter Grayson has scheduled an April 6 auction and is quoting a $4.3 million price guide.

Castlecrag

There are breathtaking views over Sugarloaf Bay from almost every room of this architecturally-designed residence, which cascades over five levels and includes a tasting room and heated pool.

That view is possibly best appreciated from the main bedroom, where you can roll out of bed and stroll through bifold doors out to a sunny terrace.

Smart home technology keeps every room in the house at peak comfort levels, with a zoned climate system and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

David Forrester of Belle Property Northbridge is selling the residence with a $10 million guide.

Middle Park

When we say there are water views from the lounge room of this sleek home, we don’t mean in the traditional sense.

A floor-to-ceiling glass window illuminates a multi-level pool in the adjoining al fresco courtyard. It almost seems as though you could walk from the living area straight into a wall of water.

Outdoor areas shine in this minimalist five-bedder designed by Steve Domoney. On the top level, a terrace that can comfortably fit dinner party guests looks out over Middle Park Beach.

Nicholas Hoo of Marshall White Port Phillip says there’s a $6.8 million-to-$7.3 million guide ahead of the auction by registration on April 17.

Sales agent Michelle Kerr of Duet Property Group describes this Perth residence as ‘fit for a dynasty’, and you can see what she means.

Sprawled across two opulent levels, the five bedroom, five bathroom home has been built as an ode to old-world European estates, from the lofty archways to the topiary-adorned courtyards.

French doors, pendant lights, oak flooring and a spiral staircase add period elegance to the interiors.

Kerr is asking for offers in the low $6 million range through the sales campaign.

You can stroll down the jetty to a private pontoon for a spot of leisurely boating at this Brisbane property, but if you want to appreciate the river without moving a muscle, you could always park yourself on a deck chair beside the pool instead.

White on white makes for a clean aesthetic inside, where you’ll find a luxurious kitchen with Gaggenau appliances, a scullery and a butler’s pantry.

The residence also counts a home theatre room, an outdoor kitchen, double-height ceilings and multiple powder rooms as its standout features.

What looks like a spaceship from above is in fact a sprawling north coast retreat with 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and far-reaching views of hinterland and coastline.

Spread across approximately 2328 square metres, the decadent house near Casuarina’s local shops has its own day spa with six treatment rooms, as well as approval to add a 25-metre pool and a second gym.

There’s style to match the property’s substance too. The living areas have been designed with a striking symmetry, defined by clean lines and polished finishes.

Sophie Christou of Raine & Horne Byron Bay is asking for between $6.25 million and $6.75 million.
