Don’t stop believing – that buyers are still out there for LA mansions despite the pandemic.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has finally secured a sale of his Beverly Hills mansion after more than 18 months on the market, according to media reports.
The TV writer and producer fetched $US16.25 million ($A20.85 million) for the estate, according to the New York Post, after first listing it for nearly $US18 million in September 2019.
Designed in a Spanish colonial style, the villa was previously owned by legendary actor Diane Keaton, who sold it to the current vendor and his husband David Miller in 2010, the Post reports.
Keaton had renovated the kitchen, remodelled the facade and enclosed a patio, making the home larger, and installed a motif in the library that reads “The eye sees what the mind knows.”
The private seven-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom home now spans 784 square metres over two levels.
Striking details include high truss ceilings with chandeliers, arched doorways, living spaces that open to a central courtyard, a water feature, a landscaped garden with towering succulents and a pool area bedecked with fairy lights.
Ryan Murphy also owns a New York city townhouse and recently sold a home in Laguna Beach, Orange County, according to the Post.
