I’m sure I’m not alone in daydreaming of a simpler lifestyle, somewhere surrounded by greenery, where the air is clear.

From the north coast to the highlands, these three homes could be your next big move (or failing that, will at least keep those daydreams alive).

They say Port Macquarie has the best weather in Australia, and its enviable climate attracts visitors year-round. This complex of three apartments was built to capitalise on holiday rentals and offers the opportunity of living in one apartment and renting the other two full-floor apartments.

The two-bedroom penthouse of The Waves complex has a spacious balcony and leafy outlook, while the ground floor and middle level apartments have three and four bedrooms, respectively. The Waves is a stroll to the family-friendly Flynns Beach and its cafes and shops.

From the outside, Highdown on Nott’s Hill looks like its straight from its 1870s.

Yet, this cottage has had a renovation that has added modern conveniences, including ducted gas heating and a double-sided fireplace.

The home was designed by architect Randolph J. Nott and is currently priced at $2.4 million, through Karl Zabel, of Drew Lindsay Real Estate.

Built c1913, Edenderra is a classic weatherboard with high ceilings, timber floors, pretty fretwork and stained- glass windows.

On 1600 square metres, the house has five fireplaces but is also fitted with central heating.

The renovated kitchen has marble benchtops and a large gas oven and cooktop.

Downer & Maher Real Estate agent Carolyn Howarth hopes to sell for around $1.4 million.
