It may have been some time since the bells at Goulburn’s old fire station have rung out in an emergency, but it certainly continues to ring a few bells now thanks to its cool Victorian style.

This renovated local icon dates back to 1890 and blends historic charm with unparalleled convenience in the heart of town.

The old fire station sits on more than 300 square metres of land and offers about 366 square metres of floor space over two levels.

Those levels are packed with character features, including high ceilings, big rooms, modern and original timber features, deep skirting and panelled ceilings.

The building has been set up in a way that complements a wide range of business ventures.

That’s been proven by its post-1970s commercial legacy that includes incarnations as a restaurant, a wine bar, and smart digs for a law firm.

The possibilities as a location for successful businesses continue to this day.

Karl Zabel of Dunne Southern Highlands says the grand building has been, and continues to be, an important part of Goulburn’s rich history.

“Locals are very proud of the building and what it represents,” he says. “It would be perfect as an art gallery or, perhaps, as a cafe, restaurant or wine bar – even as a boutique hotel.”
