A Hamptons-style home has proved to be a record breaker for Casey, after it beat the previous suburb record by $160,000 last week.
The newly built, five-bedroom home at 28 Chilton Street is situated on the sought-after high side of the street, filled with natural light and complemented by a muted colour palette and open-plan living areas. It’s location opposite a nature reserve means it boasts green views across Gungahlin.
Sales agent Maria Selleck described the home as one-of-a-kind and said everything about it was generous.
“All the living spaces and bedrooms are generously sized. You’ve got a huge master bedroom and a big ensuite,” she said.
“Even the kitchen has a big butler’s pantry which has an oven and cooktop. It even has room for a fridge, microwave and dishwasher.”
Built by Robert Cobanov of Mabilo Resorts Pty Ltd, the land was acquired in 2011 as a business investment.
“I’m sure when you walk into the house you can tell the difference between a home that has been built with quality in mind, as opposed to a house that has been put together for the mere purpose of a sale – Robert is a very detailed person,” Selleck said.
The chic home was first listed in November last year and was originally taken to auction but passed in under the hammer. The eventual buyers made a bid for the home auction.
The final selling price was well above that of Casey’s median house price of $630,500.
Selleck said the home was “meant to be” for the happy new owners.
“When the buyers walked in they just loved it,” she said.
“They just loved the Hamptons style, and loved the spaciousness of it.
“They were so overjoyed when they got the home, it was as if they had won the lotto.”
