Hollywood heart-throb Zac Efron could be set to put down roots in Australia after buying a block of land outside Byron Bay and dropping the asking price to sell his Los Angeles home.
The superstar was widely rumoured earlier this year to have snapped up a bush block in the Tweed Valley between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.
Public title records now show the block has settled in the name of Zachary Efron, and the online listing shows the parcel changed hands for $2 million.
Selling agent Brad Franks of Ray White Murwillumbah would not be drawn when contacted, citing a non-disclosure agreement.
Set on almost 130 hectares, the private retreat offers rainforest, creeks, waterfalls and bushwalking trails.
The star of High School Musical, The Greatest Showman, and Baywatch spent much of the pandemic in celebrity hotspot Byron Bay, only recently separating from his Australian girlfriend, Vanessa Valladares.
His Los Angeles home has been looking for a buyer since late last year when it was asking $US5.9 million.
But he has since cut the price guide to $US5.575 million ($A7.16 million) in a bid to sell the home.
The residence in the Los Feliz neighbourhood offers a four-bedroom main house plus a one-bedroom guest house and views of the city and the ocean.
It comes with a chef’s kitchen, gym, wine cellar, pool and spa with a waterfall.
Personal touches feature, such as a skateboard collection, pinball machine and a Bruce Lee poster.
