The year 2000 made headlines in Australia for many things: the Y2K bug, the glorious Sydney Olympic Games, the not-so-glorious introduction of the GST, and the celebrity wedding of superstars Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.

In Canberra, the start of the new millennium was also a time of innovation for the real estate industry. With the launch of the Allhomes website, Canberrans could now conveniently browse local properties online at any time.

General Manager Kaaren Lewis says, as Canberra’s leading property website for the past 25 years, Allhomes has become the trusted place Canberrans turn to for life’s big property decisions.

“Every day, we have the privilege of helping Canberrans buy, sell, rent, invest, and move into new homes – creating lasting memories along the way,” she says. “We’re proud to be a partner in every step of their journey.”

Allhomes will kick off celebrations to honour the pivotal milestone by sponsoring Lifeline Canberra’s Bookfair – the largest gathering of book lovers – running from February 7-9 at Exhibition Park in Mitchell.

Lifeline CEO Carrie-Ann Leeson says they’re thrilled to partner with Allhomes to make a meaningful impact across Canberra.

“This new partnership reflects our shared values and commitment to our Canberra community,” she says.

“We’re grateful to Allhomes for their support of the work we do, enabling Lifeline Canberra to further its preventative and crisis support services.”

Across the weekend, bookfair attendees will have the chance to win one of twelve $250 vouchers for Ziggys Fresh, one of Canberra’s oldest family-owned fresh food market stores, with winners drawn on February 10.

Lewis says there will be plenty more giveaways to look out for throughout the year.

“As part of our anniversary celebrations, Allhomes will be giving away thousands of dollars in prizes every month, celebrating unique Canberra experiences, supporting locally owned businesses and championing the wonderful work of our charity partners,” she says.

“We’re proud to be sponsoring Lifeline Canberra’s Bookfair and look forward to seeing the Canberra community come together this weekend to support this important local service.”
