A two-bedroom terraced house in Chesterfield, UK is puzzling buyers who have no way of entering the house from the street.
With no front door, the only access is through a back door off the kitchen.
If the house came with a rear access lane, this off-piste way of entering the home wouldn’t be too inconvenient.
But, bewilderingly, there is no road near the back of the house. To enter through the kitchen door, you need to turn off the main road, drive down a deserted back road, park the car, and then walk through a labyrinthine series of lanes – and the odd neighbour’s garden – before finally reaching the back gate of the property.
Add a boot-load of shopping bags, and the whole operation becomes even more tiresome.
The access issues are a pity, because the property itself is a cosy home that if in Sydney, would have locals forking out millions.
A main living room with a wood-burning stove leads onto a modernised kitchen with plenty of cupboard space.
Upstairs, two bedrooms with built-in storage overlook a large garden with established planting, and an outdoor shed.
The property is on the market for just £150,000 ($AU293,000), through agency Blundells Chesterfield.
The listing has drawn laughs from online viewers, who have joked there is “No need for the ‘no cold caller sign’ on this one”.
“It would be a full time job trying to explain to delivery drivers how to find the place,” a Reddit user commented.
Given that UK post is typically delivered through a slot in the front door, many people also raised concerns about receiving mail.
