Buyers who missed out in Ginninderry’s first release will have another chance to secure a property in the new Belconnen community.
A total of 64 homes will be released on Friday and sold via a draw. The release includes 28 single residential blocks and 36 townhouse-style properties.
In April, more than 1000 potential buyers registered for the 80 blocks of land, while 400 registered for 17 townhouses.
Ginninderry project director Steve Harding said the second release was focused on housing affordability and included 36 means-tested “flexi-living” homes.
The separate title townhouse-style properties start from $367,500, with an average price of $405,783.
“The flexi-living series is designed for the first-home buyer, offering a variety of architect-designed homes,” Mr Harding said.
“It’s not an apartment and not a traditional home, but somewhere in between.
“These homes, on their own separate blocks of land, are being offered as turn-key products, which means buyers only have to pay a 5 per cent deposit and then nothing more until the home is ready to move into.”
Flexi-living buyers must have a household income of $120,000 or less and live in the home for at least three years.
The 28 blocks of land are priced from $629 per square metre. They range from $177,400 to $548,300, with an average price of $263,868.
Sizes vary from about 230 to 850 square metres.
The blocks are adjacent to the existing Strathnairn Arts Community, with easy access to the suburb’s green spaces and walking trails.
Registrations open at 9am on Friday, June 16, and close at 4pm on Friday, June 23. The draw will be conducted on June 30.
An information day will take place on Saturday at the Ginninderry sales centre.
Plans for the second stage are in progress and expected to include 700 to 800 dwellings.
