How much for Australia’s greatest view?

The realm of $14 million, for this impressive harbouside apartment, should do it.

The residence in Sydney’s Lavender Bay has postcard views that will never be spoiled, and has been freshly listed by Atlas Lower North Shore’s Adrian Bridges and Daniel Chester.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Luna Park are front and centre from the dres-circle position of 2/9-11 Waiwera Street.

A representative for the agency confirmed the price guide is $14 million, with an auction scheduled for midday on February 22.

The luxury home was owned by the late Fergus Doyle, a part-owner of the 2014 Melbourne Cup winning stayer Protectionist. Doyle bought the property for about $11 million in 2020, and Atlas Lower North Shore are representing his family in the campaign.

With a population of 870, Lavender Bay is a micro-suburb with a village-like atmosphere and limited real estate.

Due to exclusivity, there are not enough sales to extract a median house price.

Described as having the proportions of a duplex, the dual-level property is near to restaurants, the ferries and the hum of vibrant North Sydney.

The home has more than one living zone, and sparkling views even when the buyer lays their head on the pillow.

The new owner will enter through a formal lounge, flowing to a living room and then a sitting room, with a sun-lit terrace beyond.

The kitchen and dining room also connects to this jaw-dropping outdoor space.

Downstairs is a bedroom which could be used as a study, and three of the four bedrooms – including the main – are on the upper floor.

The main bedroom has a deep balcony from where to watch the lights change over Sydney’s world-famous skyline.
