Hugh Jackman buys $30 million penthouse

The Greatest Showman star now has one of the greatest penthouses in New York City.

Hugh Jackman has splashed $US21.1 million ($30.2 million) on a three-bedroom home in trendy West Chelsea, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The property, listed by Noble Black of Douglas Elliman, had an asking price of $US22.5 million ($32.2 million) and was sold to the Aussie actor in May, his agent has revealed.

Located in a condominium with 57 units in total, the stunning abode contains an open-plan living and dining area, along with three-and-a-half bathrooms, a library and study.

Offering the utmost in indulgence, the 4,675-square-foot home boasts undisturbed views of the Hudson River, Downtown and Midtown with its 14-foot floor-to-ceiling windows.

Hugh, his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their A-list pals, can relax and unwind on the rooftop terrace, or make use of the fitness centre, sauna or screening room.
