Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is gearing up for a renovation after dropping $6.7 million on a sprawling five-bedroom house on the edge of Los Angeles.
The US-based singer-songwriter has purchased a ranch-style property in California’s Hidden Hills, a gated community in the Santa Monica Mountains region.
The star closed on the $US5.2 million ($6.7 million) deal last week, Dirt.com reports, paying $US605,000 above the asking price.
Azalea, who had been renting in neighbouring Calabasas, has already reportedly clashed with a neighbour over her renovation plans, taking to Twitter to slam them for trying to “snitch” on her for doing construction work on her first day in the property.
The rapper claimed the works were approved and went on to tweet that she would be doing construction on and off for the next year-and-a-half. Among the home improvements will be a full playground for her son.
The property, comprising almost 4300 square metres, is already impressive with five bedrooms and bathrooms, multiple living areas and a four-car garage.
The property has a large, welcoming kitchen and dining area that leads out to a screened and covered porch and a spacious living room with high vaulted beam ceilings and a stone fireplace at its centre, the listing notes.
More fireplaces are found in the breakfast area, dining room, and main bedroom, which has a large bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe (essentially its own room). There are three additional bedrooms and an office as well.
Outside is a patio with (yet another) fireplace and a barbecue area for outdoor dining, a pool, a sports court and a large grassy yard.
Azalea will also have the use of a fully self-contained, one-bedroom guest house with a stylish kitchen and living area and large loft space.
The property was previously owned by Jim Carrey’s adult daughter Jane Carrey, Dirt reports.
