Alex Andric grew up in Gungahlin and is looking forward to moving into the rapidly evolving town centre.
The 19-year-old has purchased his first home at Infinity Towers – a one-bedroom apartment in the heart of the action.
“I like how Gungahlin is expanding,” Alex says. “The town centre is expanding like crazy and it will only get better with the tram. I think Gungahlin will become a main hub in terms of lifestyle quite close to the city.”
Redevelopment in the centre includes a $60 million redevelopment of The Marketplace, which will double the size of the current Woolworths centre, provide additional car spaces and add a Kmart to the shopping centre’s suite of retailers.
The ACT’s largest Bunnings Warehouse opened its doors in the town centre late last year and more than 650 public servants have relocated to the northern hub.
Gungahlin could also have its own cinema as early as 2018, with construction of the eight-screen Hoyts theatre expected to commence early next year.
The town centre’s expansion is good news for buyers in these off-the-plan developments, who expect to see good capital growth for their purchases.
“I plan on living there in the beginning, but down the track it’s a really good investment as well,” Alex says.
